Buffalo - the "Queen City"
Use the City seal to the left to follow a link, and view a simply marvelous collection of early photographs of Buffalo and its surrounding area.

The 2nd largest city in New York, Buffalo has a rich history of industrial and social growth.

Its strategic location on Lake Erie and the western terminus of the Erie Canal greatly influenced America's transportation network , from the east coast to the mid-west. As this important transportation node, Buffalo was a major factor in America's ability to grow into an important manufacturing nation.

This collection has been developed by the Western New York Heritage Press, Inc. To read more about them, see the link below

Our thanks go out to Colonel Ken Braunbach, who brought this to our attention.
